Yalumba wine-matching Truffle Dinner
Tuesday 13th August 2019
6-course Wine-Matching Dinner featuring premium French Black Périgord Truffles from Stonebarn Truffle Farm in Manjimup, WA, the heart of Australia's truffle country. Morri Behrmann, GM of Oliveria Wholesale and Melbourne distributor for Stonebarn Truffles, will take us on a journey of the origins of these truffles and the love, sweat and tears that go into hunting, cleaning and grading these little beauties.
The wines for the evening are by Yalumba Wines, Australia's oldest family owned winery. They are now 5th generation winemakers, with founder Samuel Smith planting his own vineyard in the Barossa Valley, SA, in 1849. The wines will be presented by winemaker Natalie Cleghorn, who joined Yalumba in 1999 and has experience in small and large volume wine production, and a love of the noble grape varieties.
Featuring on the menu will be scallops with a savoury tart; asparagus with duck egg, truffles and onion weed oil; coppa di testa with truffles; cappelletti with truffles; duck breast and truffle jus; and finishing with a truffle dessert and cheese board.
Hosted by Emilia Lakhi, founder of Hospo Creativo.
